School Uniform Direct – Assistant / Manager Position

What we would like:

We are looking for enthusiastic, hard-working and flexible individuals for our stores. The

positive attitude is essential to any of these roles.

Depending on your experience, starting as a Sales Assistant (to learn the ropes), but

moving very quickly up the hierarchy to becoming an Assistant Manager and Manager

Positions (within 1-3 Months) or if you have the experience taking this role even sooner!

We are looking for any one that wants a serious opportunity, with a responsible position

that maybe they would not get until much further in their career.

This includes sales staff, school leavers or anyone that is interested in this position to

increase their experience within retail and management.

These jobs will involve a very dedicated 'people person' dealing with parents who can

sometimes be panicking about buying their son/daughters school uniform. As you can

imagine- during the summer months it will get very busy and require patience and hard


Outside of summer the store is a lot quieter, we have been established for many years

and have built a solid reputation within the industry and to the locals.

Assistant Manager / Manager: 36-42 hours a week

Must be prepared and able to work if required:

Saturday : 10am – 6pm


Sunday : 12pm – 4pm

Package: £18,000-£20,000 OTE

– Depending on Age/Experience – Starting Pay £8.45 – £8.90 (After Probation)

Your role in management will be expected to:

Maintain time sheets

Organise your team

Cash up and bank

Maintain stock and warehouse

Maintain shop upkeep

Lead by example in terms of customer services.

Be aware and remain up to date with items specific to individual schools.

Be Available without holiday or leave between 10th August – 15th September

These roles are ideal for candidates who are looking for a job that will suit our times of

operation, Saturday and Sunday being key days of business is therefore you may need

to arrange this with your other staff manager/assistant manager, but should be expected

to work at least one or the other! This may be a job share with your other

managers/assistant managers. However you should be prepared for this should you

want to apply for this position.

During the peak season it must be noted that hours will be quite heavy (10th August – 15

Sept) opening earlier and closing later. There will also be a regulated restriction to time

off during this period.

Who we are looking for:

We are NOT looking for the most experienced staff as we will provide training, However

we are looking for someone with the right attitude to team work and customer service

and some experience in the field.

They must have a 'muck in' all for one and one for all approach to the business, as we

are a growing and expanding business which has a very young team, we are looking to

grow with our team for a prosperous future!

The positions also have good growth potential as assistant managers would look to

managerial positions and area manager positions in due time and experience. We have
