Pauline welcomed everyone, apologies had been received from Shani Orchard and Richard Smith.
Minutes of the meeting December 2013 – these were approved
Matters arising
Christmas 2013 debrief – Rotary raised £95.60 – there will be an indepth debrief in the sub-committee meeting next week (Nikki, Christine & Noel).
Xmas trees cost was more than last year £1708
Jazz Singers cost £150.00
Free School application – this is being looked at by the Neighbourhood Form at Broadoaks
Committee Meeting – this is to discuss the assessment of funds and planning – date to be confirmed.
Website – In December there were 132 visits, 301 page views, expected lower over the Festive season. Most searches were for businesses in the village.
Planning Issues
There is going to be an ATM in Londis – good news
Trevi is now closed – there is a rumour for a want to convert to residential but there has been no application yet.
Sheer House Cladding application has been granted – there was a serious accident recently at the spiral stair cases to the Sheer House Car park near Costa Coffee a young child fell through the staircase.
Membership
This will be discussed at the committee meeting – agreed there is a need for a drive for
Members – agreed to keep the subscriptions at £25.00 for 2014. Renewal notices to be issued by Ron to members.
Woking Chambers
Nothing to report – Ray Morgan did visit West Byfleet which went well and is very positive about the
Village.
Any Other Business
It was discussed how to use the deficit. It was decided to defer this until after the committee meeting when all the expenditure is know.
Formal congratulations were made to Apples and Pears on winning the Best Window Award – a press release was circulated.
The large Xmas tree stayed secure – well done to Bourne Valley.
Advert: Waitrose online promotion – bottle of champagne if you order your groceries online!!!
The Village Christmas Event raised £94.00 and £337.00 for Eikon.
